Over @ deviantART the 2011 edition of the Epic Movie Poster Contest was held, and like last year I couldn't help myself and enter again (:
This time the plot of Sleep Well, Sleep Forever: A Dex Campos Mystery sparked my interest as it gave me immediate inspiration because of it's wonderful atmosphere and story. I felt a beautiful film-noir movie-theme creeping up at me and decided to create a series of four, the first one the main poster (which you can see above my text) and the three follow-ups depicting the three leads; the written-off Detective, the seductive Girl and the dangerous Boyfriend...
Here is a little snippet of the (fake!) moviescript, and below that the three follow-up posters (:
Dexter "Dex" Campos, a retired L.A. Detective turned mystery writer, thought today would be like any other day. A couple of hours making losing bets at the racetrack, then back to his empty apartment where he, and a bottle of scotch would continue their battle to overcome writer's block. But today would be different. Today... she would be waiting for him at his doorstep.
